03 / BEFORE TREATMENT
Before starting treatment
- Approved in Japan for type 2 diabetes. Use for weight management is off-label, self-funded care and is not covered by health insurance. The clinic sources products from authorised Japanese pharmaceutical wholesalers.
- Nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea and constipation may occur. Serious effects can include low blood sugar and acute pancreatitis. Seek medical advice promptly for severe abdominal pain or persistent vomiting.
- Tell your doctor about pregnancy or breastfeeding, type 1 diabetes, pancreatitis, gallbladder or severe gastrointestinal disease, personal/family history of medullary thyroid cancer or MEN2, and insulin or sulfonylurea use.
- Disclose all medicines, including oral contraceptives, and supplements. Results vary. Discuss dose changes and stopping treatment with your doctor.
